Lung Cancer Biomarkers

Biomarkers can help a treatment team to determine the best treatment for a patient, see how the patient is responding, and assist in creating a care plan. New tumor markers are being identified with more frequency, so all tumor markers may not yet be reflected on this list.

  • ALK (anaplastic lymphoma kinase).
  • BRAF (B-RAF proto-oncogene, serine/threonine kinase).
  • EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor).
  • FGFR (Fibroblast growth factor receptor).
  • HER2 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2).
  • KRAS (Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog).
  • MET (MET-proto-oncogene).
  • NTRK (Neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 1).
  • PIK3CA (Phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit alpha).
  • Programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1)
  • RET (RET-proto-oncogene).
  • ROS1 (ROS proto-oncogene 1, receptor tyrosine kinase)
